Blogger pleads guilty of sending anti-Semitic blogs to the Scotsman Newspaper

Blogger pleads guilty

Jewish Telegraph, Oct 22, 2010.
A MAN accused of sending antisemitic blogs to The Scotsman newspaper has admitted his guilt.
Mohammed Sandia was originally charged with racial prejudice, to which the charge of racial aggravation has been added. He changed his plea to guilty, at Edinburgh Sherriff Court last week.
The prosecution follows a series of antisemitic comments posted on The Scotsman website, including one, published in March 2008, saying: "Jews are not fit to breathe our air. They must be attacked wherever you see them; throw rocks at their ugly hook-nosed women and mentally ill children and light up the REAL ovens."
Scottish Council of Jewish Communities public affairs officer Leah Granat said: "The success of the prosecution underlines the importance of reporting all incidents to the police."
CST communications director Mark Gardner added: "This showed why newspapers need to take care about their sites."
Sentencing has been deferred until November 10 for community reports.
