Please note the event will start EARLIER than the previous sessions. 6.30pm refreshments, talk starts at 7pm* Ishmael Khaldi is Israel's first Bedouin diplomat and is currently serving as an adviser to Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Living in a tent until the age of 8 and herding sheep as a teenager, Khaldi was the first of his millennia-old people to go into international diplomacy on behalf of Israel. Prior to his foreign service, Khaldi had obtained a Masters Degree in Political Science from Tel Aviv University, served in the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israel Police, and in the Israel Defense Forces as a political analyst. In 2006 he was appointed the Deputy Consul in San Francisco. Khaldi will discuss his remarkable journey as well as the complex dimensions and loyalties involved, and the uniqueness of being an Israeli Bedouin Muslim. **A copy of Khaldi’s book, A Shepherd’s Journey, will be available for purchase at the event** Tuesday, 21st June 6.30pm light refreshments, talk starts at 7pm The spiro Ark, 25-26 Enford Street London W1H 1DW Price: £8/£4 for students To book: uk@standwithus.com education@spiroark.org |
I am not an historian, decent author or a journalist, and the chances are that unless there is a link or reference to somewhere else, the perpetrator is yours truly – Renaud Sarda. I created this blog as a focal point, to arm people with arguments and facts that they can perhaps use to counter biased media reporting and anti-Israel propaganda, and to help counter (BDS) campaign. I am a Zionist/Sephardi/Jew who will fly the Israeli flag, and defend whatever Israel does.
