The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has rejected as baseless a report by an Israeli website about Iran’s Parchin military site, saying the new claim is merely aimed at “deceiving the world.”

“The Zionist regime [of Israel] is currently making losses, and it seems that the Zionists are attempting to deceive the world because of the situation they are mired in,” Fars news agency quoted Behrouz Kamalvandi, the AEOI spokesman, as saying o Monday.

On Sunday, Israel’s DEBKAfile website claimed that 1,300 kilograms of low-grade enriched uranium had been transferred to the Parchin military site in northeastern Tehran, and “1,630 advanced centrifuges have been installed there for rapid upgrade work.”

Kamalvandi further emphasized the Islamic Republic’s confidence-building measures to address concerns over its civilian nuclear activities, saying that the Israeli regime will lose face when the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities is proven to the world.

“Everyone will naturally compare the figures published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with the fake claims by the Zionists,” he stated.

The AEOI official added that the Tel Aviv regime is making “desperate” attempts to hinder the improvement of Iran’s ties with the western states, stressing that such claims merely reveal the true face of Israel more clearly.

On April 19, AEOI Head Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran has “no problem” with an IAEA visit to the Parchin military site if the Agency offers a “logical reason and conclusive evidence.”

The IAEA inspectors have visited Parchin twice before and confirmed that no nuclear activity was being conducted at the military site.

Israel has been irked by the landmark deal inked between Tehran and the P5+1 group – the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany – over Iran’s nuclear energy program in Geneva, Switzerland, last November.
