PLO awaits Abbas’word on ending security ties with Israel
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) central committee decided in Ramallah Thursday to end the security cooperation with Israel which dates back to the 1993 Oslo Accords. This recommendation must be approved by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas for which a PLO executive must meet. It entails also ending intelligence-sharing against the radical Hamas.
DEBKAfile: This step is part of a retaliatory cycle that began with the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral applications to international bodies for membership, including a complaint against Israel to the international war crimes court at The Hague, and Israel’s cutoff of tax returns to the PA.
