Debkafile: The director of Saudi Arabia’s General intelligence agency, Khalid Bin Ali Al Humaidan, paid surprise visits to Ramallah and Jerusalem on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 21-22. Neither Palestinian nor Israeli officials have confirmed that the visit took place.
Last week, DEBKA Weekly carried an exclusive report that Iranian engineers were working round the clock on a project dubbed “Riyadh First,” for adding an extra 100km to the intermediate range of the Scud-C (600km) and Scud-D (700km) surface missiles, to enable them to reach the Saudi capital and explode in the center of Riyadh.

Opinion: How nice that the Saudi spy chief is visiting his new friends – the Jews. Of course it had to happen that way because Jews are not allowed to visit Saudi Arabia.
Our post from Monday (here) on the delayed public offering of $2 trillion Saudi oil company Aramco, is the reason Saudis are making nice.
King Salman and his royal buddies must be in dire financial straits. The 2014-15 drop in oil, due to the miracle of fracking, followed by the Saudi’s futile attempt to flood the oil market to bankrupt frackers, failed. The royal piggy bank might be getting a bit low.
What’s a king to do? Why, let the new US president know that the deal of a lifetime might be his… if a few conditions are met.
A guarantee of protection from those Iranian Scud missiles that are aimed at downtown Riyadh, and economic cooperation of billions of US cash dollars might do the trick. Hey, $3 billion per year kept Egypt’s Mubarak friendly for 30 years.
And for a bonus King Salman would get the rest of the Gulf States, and possibly Egypt, for a big US/Israel/Sunni love fest.
I would caution anyone before celebrating. There is an Arabic word called Taqiyya; it allows and encourages lying in defense of Islam.
