By Umid Niayesh - Trend:

Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said that the Syrian missile manufacturing plants have been transferred from Iran.

Hajizadeh said that when Iran started its missile program by buying missiles from Libya, the country had to gain experience in Syria, and now - even the missile-manufacturing plants in Syria are made by Iranian specialists, the Islamic Republic’s Fars news agency reported Nov. 11.

Hajizadeh said that “Resistance Frontline” (Hezbollah) also has learned missile manufacturing from Iran. He added that both Hezbollah and Palestinian militants benefit high capabilities in missile technology.

Iran is a close ally of the Syrian government and has always shown its support for the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad.

Western media outlets reported that Syria is accelerating its production of missiles and rockets, effectively circumventing international sanctions imposed on it.

The Jane’s Defence weekly (In-depth intelligence on global military and commercial defense activity), presented evidence that the Syrian government has upgraded its weapons capacity with the assistance of countries including Iran, North Korea and Belarus.
