Palestinian Media Watch's exposure of Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi's Antisemitic lesson at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, triggered international response. The Wiesenthal Center publically condemned it, urging King Abdullah of Jordan and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to denounce the hate speech and ban the Sheikh [The Jerusalem Post, June 4, 2015]. In response, in a subsequent lesson in the mosque, this past Friday, Al-Mughrabi defended and even added to the Antisemitism he had disseminated.

Last week, Al-Mughrabi taught the medieval blood libel that Jews use the blood of non-Jewish children to make Passover matzah bread. He also charged that Jews were behind the 9-11 attacks and that they slaughter their own relatives as sacrifices to Satan, as part of their activities in the Freemasons.

In his subsequent lesson, Sheikh Al-Mughrabi defended his Antisemitic teachings. He categorized them as "advice" to the Jews - "the Children of Israel" - who he was trying to "save" from "Hell," implying that by exposing to the world that the Jews make matzah by murdering children, the Jews will improve their behavior. He added that it is not only Jews who Muslims try to save from Hell, as Muslims may give advice to a "Jew or Christian or Buddhist" in order "to save him from the fire of Hell":

"When we talk about the Children of Israel, we talk about them because we are trying to save them from the punishment they inflict on themselves in the fire of Hell. We give advice in order to save the person we are advising, whoever he may be, whether Jew or Christian or Buddhist, or of any religion. What is our goal? To save him from the fire of Hell. To get him into the Garden of Eden."

He stated that Jews condemn this well-intended "advice", calling it "Antisemitism":

"If you give advice to a Jew, he immediately says: 'You're inciting to racism, you're an Antisemite.'"

As is clear, not only did the Sheikh not retract his Antisemitic statements, he even added to them. He also added that "the Children of Israel symbolize the Devil," "hate all the nations" and cause problems all over the world:

"There is no doubt that we don't deny that the Children of Israel cause great damage to all people in the world."

Reminding his audience that the lesson was being recorded, Sheikh Al-Mughrabi described Jews as hating other nations:

"I remind you, our class is being recorded. We do not talk about the Children of Israel because we hate the Children of Israel. Rather the opposite. It is the Children of Israel who hate all the nations, but we [Muslims] don't hate anyone, praise Allah. It is not in our hearts, we, the nation of Muhammad - He [Allah] did not put hatred of other nations in our hearts."

Returning to the motif of "saving" the Jews from Hell, the Sheikh ended by saying that given the problematic nature of Jews one should actually pity them:

"But at the same time, when you return to the essence of the verses of the Quran, and when you draw closer to Allah, you pity these people, you feel sorry for them."

The following is a longer excerpt of Sheikh Al-Mughrabi's latest teachings:

Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi: "The things we see in the story of Adam [in the Quran] are the key to interpret the story of the Children of Israel... In the story of Adam, the Children of Israel are parallel to the Devil [Iblis] in Heaven. The Children of Israel symbolize the Devil in Heaven. We saw Adam and the entrance of Adam into the Garden of Eden. Adam symbolizes the nation of the Prophet Muhammad... I remind you, our class is being recorded. We do not talk about the Children of Israel because we hate the Children of Israel. Rather the opposite. It is the Children of Israel who hate all the nations. But we [Muslims] don't hate anyone, praise Allah. It is not in our hearts. We, the nation of Muhammad - He [Allah] did not put hatred of other nations in our hearts. When we talk about religious matters, and when we talk about the Children of Israel, we talk about them because we are trying to save them from the punishment they inflict on themselves in the fire of Hell. We give advice in order to save the person we are advising, whoever he may be, whether Jew or Christian or Buddhist, or of any religion. What is our goal? To save him from the fire of Hell. To get him into the Garden of Eden... If you give advice to a Jew, he immediately says: You're inciting to racism, you're an Antisemite. Immediately. It has become a cliché for them, a permanent sentence, a cliché, which they stick on every person who gives them advice... There is no doubt that we don't deny that the Children of Israel cause great damage to all people in the world, we don't deny that. But at the same time, when you return to the essence of the verses of the Quran, and when you draw closer to Allah, you pity these people, you feel sorry for them."
