Cherie Blair Defends Muslim Women - Your Jihad

 Mon 8 Nov 2010

Cherie Blair
Cherie Blair has defended Muslim women who cover up and insisted that it is wrong to see them as a threat. This comes only weeks after her half-sister announced her conversion to Islam.
The former Prime Minister's wife, also claimed that it was “not true” that women who covered up were oppressed and “incapable” of thinking for themselves.
“It's important to fight against certain stereotypes, that affect above all Muslim women. We tend to believe they're oppressed, insecure and incapable of thinking for themselves and that is not true.
There are plenty of decent none Muslims out there, who stand up for justice and defend Muslims.
You, as a Muslim, also have an Islamic duty to defend the Ummah and all humanity against injustice and oppression.
You need to be politically active, you need to write articles, blog and contribute to intellectual debates in public forums.
You need to voice your concerns, express your dedication to Islam, to Britain and to humanity.
Stand up for justice. Speak out against all forms of injustice, whether they're committed by Muslims or none Muslims.
Strive for the cause of justice, freedom and tolerance for all, not just for Muslims. This is your Jihad.
Strive for excellence in your career. Make Islam and Britain proud of your achievements. This is your Jihad.
Strive for knowledge, science and progress. This is your Jihad.
Strive and work hard in educating and nurturing your children, so that they will become scientists or entrepeneurs. This is your Jihad.
Jihad is not equivalent to terrorism.
Jihad is against terrorism."
