Video: New Trends in Arab Antisemitism

Hatred of Jews is obviously a widely spread phenomenon in the Arabic world. This becomes apparent if you look at a compilation of TV recordings presented by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) in front of the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations in Geneva.

In the submitted video from Sept., 28th 2010 the organisation – which was founded in 1998 in Washington to put the Islamic media in the Middle East under surveillance - compiles a series of Arabic TV recordings which verify a general anti-Semitic attitude of Islamic clergymen, politicians and media.
The almost 23 minutes of recordings cast an interesting light on the views of Islamic clergymen concerning the Mid-East-Conflict. “We will treat the Jews as our enemies, even if they return Palestine to us, because they are infidels”, says Muhammad Al-Muraikhi, a clergyman from Quatar.
The Holocaust on Jews in the Third Reich is also topic of the recordings. They show pictures from German concentration camps in the Third Reich, fitted with commentaries of Islamic clergymen stating that Jews deserved such treatment and humiliation through their own behavior.
It seems to come into vogue more and more in Arabic media to hate Jews. The former Lebanese Minister Wiam Wahhab jokes completely uninhibited about liking Germans and supporting their politics because they „hate and burned Jews“.
Aballah Jarbu, Hamas Deputy Minister of Religious Endowments states: „I condemn whoever believes in normalizing relations with them (the Jews), whoever wants to sit down at a table with them, or even believes that they are human beings. They are no human beings. They are no people. They have no religion, no conscience, and no moral values.”
Obviously Jews are not only codemned for political, but also even for religious reasons by Islamic media. „Our hatred of the Jews is based upon our faith”, the Egyptian clergyman Salam Abd Al-Qawi literally states, „Koran tells us to hate them and not to love them.”
