Jewish Red Army veterans still fighting, for recognition in Israel

Soviet war veterans arrived in Israel as pensioners and most never learned Hebrew so few Israelis know their stories • Some receive government stipends amounting to just $50 a month • About 500,000 Jews served in the Soviet Red Army during World War II.
