A woman from Kibbutz Saad who often has to run to shelter due to rockets fired by Gaza terrorists found herself sharing a hospital room this week with a woman from Gaza, who lives just a short distance away. The two were in Kaplan hospital after giving birth.
Naama Athu of Jabalia, Gaza, was transferred to Kaplan after suffering complications in late pregnancy that put her life and that of her unborn baby in danger. Doctors managed to save both Athu and her daughter, who was born in Rehovot.
Yael Frankel of Kibbutz Saad told Maariv, “At first I was in shock. You run away from rockets and then find out you're with someone who came from Gaza... In the end, she's a human being, and a baby is a baby. I'm glad they helped her here.”
