The Israeli Embassy sent West Dunbartonshire Council a package of Israeli books

Following the decision by West Dunbartonshire Council to ban the purchas of new Israeli books, the Israeli Embassy sent the Council a package of books ranging from one of the first publications in Hebrew to come from the region, the Bible, right up to the modern day, including Start Up Nation (by Senor & Singer).

Amir Ofek, Spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy commented, “Only through reading books can the explicit ignorance about the region, inherent in statements such as Jim Bollan’s, be overcome. Regardless of one’s political take on the Middle East, banning books cannot be a policy adopted by any elected body in the 21st century.”
