Sadly it seems like the old Kurdish political differences are reemerging faster

By BenjaminHiller
Sadly it seems like the old Kurdish political differences are reemerging faster (on the political level) than feared. Though on the ground all Kurdish fighting forces are working together (more or less) and many Kurds are fed up by the tinkering of the different political parties in such a time of crisis there are signs of inter-kurdish rivalry.

On the one hand Barzani made a speech saying that only the "official" Kurdish flag should be flown by all military Kurdish groups - thus targeting groups like the HPG and YPG who use their own signs and have been in some of the worst fighting in the last days.

Furthermore Lvin Magazine - a well know and widely read magazine in Kurdistan - has published the following accusations (which I can`t confirm/deny on my own, but there are more statements like these):

"We have information that many light and heavy weaponry have arrived but they were quickly confiscated at the Erbil International Airport and taken to KDP military bases… PUK has not received even one bullet from those arsenals sent by US or any other country to Kurdistan Region, although PUK has been fighting ISIS/IS for more than two months now," a PUK official in Erbil told Lvin magazine on condition of anonymity 11 August.

The report adds that there are speculations that Pentagon did not lead the shipment operation and that the weapons were sent and supervised instead by the CIA.

Thanks to my Kurdish friends who have pointed me to the Lvin Story. It would be the worst scenario that in such crisis times (or shortly after in the future) the Kurds would turn again against each other due to corruption and power-hungry politicians.
