The 2013 Miss Israel is heading back to the front lines.
Yityish “Titi” Aynaw, the Ethiopian-Israeli beauty that won Miss Israel in 2013, is back in her olive drab uniform. StandWithUs, a pro-Israel advocacy and education organization, posted a photo of Aynaw in her uniform holding her service weapon.
From jspacenews.com:
“Aynaw was the first Ethiopian-Israeli to win Miss Israel and is also the first black Miss Israel winner. Aynaw is an Ethiopian-born Jew and is also the first Ethiopian-born Jew to win Miss Israel.
Aynaw was born in the village of Chahawit in Ethopia’s Gondar Province. Her father died when she was two years old and her mother died eight years later. Aynaw moved to Israel with her grandparents when she was twelve years old. After graduating high school, Aynaw served as a Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps of the IDF and later worked in a clothing store.
Aynaw also represented Israel in the Miss Universe pageant in November 2013 in Moscow. Despite the fact that she was considered to be a favorite, Aynaw failed to place in the semifinals.
The Jerusalem Post named Aynaw as the 39th most influential Jew in 2013.”
