From the 14th-26th of February the Embassy led 10 communal organisations in a Gilad Shalit Awareness Campaign across the UK.
Gilad Shalit is a 24 Year old Israeli who was kidnapped over four years ago by Hamas Terrorist Organisation who have since held Gilad in isolation. The campaign featured moving advans, events on campus, daily leafleting and 3 simultaneous vigils. These vigils took place in Leeds, Manchester and London. Thousands of members of the community took part either through online media or in person during the two weeks.
Yellow ribbons were also given out across the community and wider to show solidarity. The campaign featured heavily in Israeli media during this period.
